TREAD Map

Company profile

TREAD Map is a group company of Dharma Maps, which is based out of Seattle Washington. Dharma Maps builds and runs all kinds of mapping software products. TREAD Map was originally invested in by the Washington State Tourism, who funded the original development and distribution of the app.

Key Value Add of the Product/service

TREAD Map is an outdoor recreation destination mapping tool. The app maps destinations for outdoor recreationists, such as hikes, boat launches, and camping. The app enables land managers, such as the parks and recreation department, to manage all of their own messaging. The app gets real time messages across to visitors, telling them about what's happening with the destinations.

Social or Environmental Impact

The app operates with an "all proceeds go to" business model. While being a corporation, the corporation's main goal is to deliver proceeds to non profits that are working to build sustainable infrastructure for outdoor recreation.

ApiSave

Company Profile

ApiSave is a brand owned by NRCS that has patented and commercialized a product to help beekeepers fight diseases that are causing bee hive collapse. ApiSave has been researching and developing their product since 2021 with the support of the Canadian government through Natural Products Canada.

Key Value Add of the Product/service

ApiSave is a nutritional supplement for bees that includes a proprietary extract that makes bees more resilient against common diseases. With the application of this nutritional supplement, bees are 20 times more likely to survive a Foulbrood infection. This product is currently in the research and development phase, and rollout to Canada, U.S., and Mexico will come in late 2024, early 2025. After that, the product will enter New Zealand and Africa.

Social or Environmental Impact

This product saves bees from disease, keeping the bees alive so they can continue pollinating our ecosystems. The effect of this product is positive in our human systems of agriculture, and has spinoff positive effects for wild ecosystems. The product is also low carbon and consumes less resources to manufacture when compared to other products that are currently being used by the Agriculture industry.

Morningstar Sustainalytics has several products under the brand. The key product is the ESG risk rating which tells asset managers where the safest place to invest is considering climate change. The Impact rating tells investors where the best place to put their money is for greatest positive impact on society and the environment. The Low Carbon Transition Rating tells investors which companies will survive through the low carbon transition.

ASBB fulfills requests for proposals published by several different organizations, as well as government level RFPs. The previous organizations ASBB has worked with are: Tri County Women's Centre, Town of Yarmouth, Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association, and Port of Yarmouth.
